An Answer to Henry Montor's Jewish Credo for Anti-Semitism
By JOSEPH BRAININ
Editor of the Seven Arts Feature Syndicate
EDITOR'S NOTE: Henry Montor, distinguished literary critic, in a recent
article, warned American Jewish leadership to abandon "their isolated concern with
the minor problem of anti-Semitism" or suffer the fate of the Jews of Germany.
Joseph Brainin, editor of the Seven Arta Feature Syndicate, replies to Mr. Mentor's
comments on a Jewish credo for anti-Semitism. Readers are invited to express
their attitude to the issue debated by Henry Montor and Joseph Brainin.

ABOUT THE OLYMPICS
Don't be surprised if the 1936
Olympic games take place in a
country other than Germany .
Now that Hitler is installed for
good and will surely last until next
summer, the question has again
come up in a more concrete form
than ever ... The American Olym-
pic Committee is financially on the
rocks, and requires, we are told,
$500,000 to keep going . . . It is
said that some of the pivotal men
holding the money-bags are in-
clined to use some pressure on

Jewish athletes We don't want
to mention any names, but one of
the higher-ups in the Amateur
Athletic Union is fed up with the
conciliatory attitude toward the

cidentally, one of the Jewish mem-
bers of the American Olympic Com-
mittee was raked over the coals by
the organization he represents and
told to use less zeal in urging Jew-

Berlin Olympics . . . So prepare
yourself for a big coup de theatre.

James G. McDonald, high commissioner
for refugees selected by the League of
Nations, has returned to this country in
an effort to co-ordinate the funds for the
relief of the tens of thousands of unfor-

Submitting a report of the actual status
of these refugees, Mr. McDonald empha-
sized the following points:
1. The work thus far accomplished in
the settlement of nearly 30,000 refugees
in new homes was made possible pri-

Distribution Committee, the Central Brit-

Agency for Palestine and the Jewish Col-

2. The immediate day-to-day relief in
certain centers, particularly Paris and
Prague, where refugees are congregated,
is desperate.
3. "The pressure of economic and other
