Henry Wineman, chairman of

many gains over last year will be
made by his workers, and that
large increases will be secured
from contributors.

presided.

Fred M. Butzel. general chair-
man of the campaign, expressed
satisfaction over the enlistment of
a number of new workers and the
retention of practically all of the
old ones in the drive. He pointed
to the improved economic condi-
tions as an indication that the en-
tire quota of the drive will be
subscribed.-
Mrs. Joseph II. Ehrlich, presi-
dent of the Detroit Service Group,
told the workers that they must
.211 learn to believe in the im-
portance of the causes included in
the drive so that the volunteers
may canvass with sincerity, devo-
tion and unselfishness.

Term "By and Large"

nautical use. A vessel which sails

Give to Both Cause.
It is reported that the organiza-
tions pledge full and •hole.hearted
co-operation, both to the Allied
Jewish Campaign and Old Folks'
Home. A spirit of loyalty and
confidence was restored through the
efforts of Kurt Peiser, executive
director of the Jewish Welfare
Federation. This is evidenced by
the fact that captains of many or-
ganizations are already out to so-
licit their members and they hav e
made definite contributions in the
name of the organizations, in addi-
tion to the individual contributions
of their members.
Some organizations were ad-
dressed two and three times, and
much interest and enthusiasm for
the causes were created.
The next mass meeting of mem-
bers of organizations, in connec-
tion with the educational work on
behalf of the Allied Jewish Cam-
paign will he called for Sunday,
April 28, at 2:30 p. m.

and members of the Zionist Ac-
tions Committee. An empty chair,
next to that of Dr. Weizmann,
was draped in black as a mourn-
ful tribute to Chaim Nachman
Bialik, who had been a governor
of the university. Dr. Judah I..
Magner, chancellor of the Ile-
brew University, outlined a pro-
gram for the university for the
next five-year period, hoping that
the Jews of the world would be
able to provide $500,000 a year
to enlarge the activities and de-
partments of the school.

"I wish that Lord Balfour could
be here today to see how the uni-
versity has become the realiza-
tion of his hopes," Sir Arthur
Wauchope said in his address.
The purpose of the university is
to create a haven for the masses
of Jewish youth thirsting for
knowledge, Dr. Weizmann de-
clared in his speech. Research
was the basis of the university at
the outset, he pointed out, but
the teaching has developed grad-
ually to meet the present needs.
Dr. II, eizmann urged generous
support for the university's bud-
get by the Jewish people in order
to achieve an expansion for the
wonderful dream the university
represents.

Warns Revisionists

When is a Revisionist not a
Revisionist is the question that
will now have to be decided be-
fore determining whether there
will be Revisionist representation
at the forthcoming World Zion-
ist Congress, it was pointed out
here by a prominent member of
the Actions Committee in com-
menting upon the threat read at
the final session by the Revision-
ists. The wording of the Revi-
sionist declaration does not indi-
cate that the Revisionists will
not participate in the Congress,
but merely says that the World
Union of Zionist-Revisionists will
not take part in the Congress.
The Revisionists, however, have
always insisted on a distinction
between the World Union, which
they considered an independent
body not forming a part of the
Zionist Organization and there-
fore entitled to indulge in separ-
atist political activity, and the
Revisionist representation at the
Congress which consists of dele-
gates elected on the basis of Re-
visionist shekolim.
The Revisionists will finally dis-
appear from Jewish public life
if they continue with their pres-
ent tactics, it was predicted in
an editorial in the Doar Ilayom,
the newspaper owner by the Pal-
estine Farmers Union and whose
chief editorial writer is Moshe
