mors that are being spread charg-

ert Ripley of "Believe It Or Not"
fame denied emphatically that he
is' in any way connected with ouch
propaganda and declared that he
abhors "every form of bigotry
and intolerance." Mr. Ripley took
occasion also to state that he is
unsympathetic with the Nazi
movement. His letter follows:

Community for Campaign Causes
Leaders of the p•e-campaign solicitations division of the Al-
lied Jewish-Campaign will commence their efforts towards the
raising of the total quota of $270, 000 at dinner this Sunday evening,
April 14, at Temple Beth El. The campaign officially begins on May
5, to last through May 15, and the quota is divided as follows: $170-
000 for the maintenance funds for 28 local, national and interna-
tional causes, and $100,000 for the building fund for the Jewish Old Folks Home.
Henry Wineman, chairman of the pre-campaign solicitations division, will preside
at Sunday's dinner, which will be addressed briefly by Fred M, Butzel, general chair-
man of the campaign; Mrs. Joseph H. Ehrlich, president of the Detroit Service Group,
the fund-raising agency of the Jewish Welfare Federation, under whose auspices the
drive is to be conducted; Kurt Peiser, executive direction of the Federation; Clarence
