Jews in Saarbruecken abstained
from showing themselves in the
streets of the city last Friday
during the parades and celebra-
tions arranged in connection with
Hitler's arrival to officially take
over the Saar from the League
of Nations.
Despite a pouring rain, the city
looked like an armed camp with
more than 10,000 uniformed
Storm Troopers marching and
with thousands of uniformed
Reichswehr soldiers crowding the
streets.
Simultaneously with the enthu-
siastic scenes in this city, several
hundred refugees from the Saar,
including many Jews, left for
France. They were sympatheti-
cally received by the French bor-
der authorities in Forbach and
were put in a special train for
Bordeaux.

NEW YORK. (JTA)—Anti-Jew- t
circulars stating that "the Jews
have sentenced Ilauptmann" and
that the Ilauptmann sentence is
"a Jewish ritual murder" were dis-
tributed here starting last Thurs-
day by members of local Nazi or-
ganizations, which on Wednesday
Bunched a campaign in Yorkville
Casino to 'obtain funds for releas-
ing Hauptmann.
"Germans and Americana,
awake!" the circular proclaims.
"German compatriots, wake up and
see in the Hauptmann sentence the
hand of the all-powerful Jew in
America. A German has been
condemned to death on the basis
of false testimony."
The circular charges that Attor-
ney General Wilentz used argu-
ments to influence the jury which
fully coincide with certain sayings
of the Talmud.
"The sentence of Hauptmann was
carried out exactly according to the
modus of the Jewish cabbala," the
anti-Semitic leaflet asserts.
Quote from Streicher

tions form Der Stuermer, the no-
torious Jew-baiting publication of

emburg and condemned by the en-
tire civilized world.
"Germans and Americans
awake!" the leaflet exhorts. "The
11th hour has struck. Don't wait
until the 12th hour begins. It will
then be too late for you. You may
then find yourselves in the Jewish
Communist World Collective. The
sentence issued in Flemington is
but a consequence of what is going
on in Washington. Albany and New
Jerusalem (say New York)," the
proclamation says, attacking Ber-
nard Baruch, Secretary Morgen-
thau, Governor Lehman, Mayor La-
Guardia and others.
The allegation that "the Haupt•
mann case is a Jewish conspiracy
against the German nation" was
also made, by a number of speakers
•• . atso-sneeting called by the --New.
York Nazis on Wednesday evening
at the Yorkville Casino. The meet-
ing was attended by more than
3,000 persons and was addressed
among others by Mrs. Ilauptmann
and by Ilauptmann's lawyer, Ed-
ward J. Reilly.
