Urges His Election as School
Inspector

Theodore LTvin issued a state-
ment on Wednesday in which he
urged the election of Dr. Norman
E. Clarke as School Inspector.
Mr. Levin lauded Dr. Clarke as
an educator, as an able business
executive and as a man highly
qualifified for a post on the Board
of Education.
Dr. Clarke, who served for sev-
eral years as head of the heart
department of the North End
Clinic and who is at present the
head of the Detroit Polyclinic at
2501 West Grand Blvd., was born
in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., 42 years
ago. He is married, has three
children and has lived in Detroit
for 12 years. He was graduated
in medicine from the University
of Michigan in 1921 and later
took his Master's Degree. Ile has
more than an ordinary interest in
education, having taught school
to pay his way through college.
During the time Dr. Clarke was
teaching, he was superintendent
of the High School and Township
School Unit of McMillan Town-
ship in the Upper Peninsula of
Michigan and also was principal
of a large city grade school in
Saginaw.
