SEVERAL EVENTS

Various events are in the Ha-
dassa h calendar.
Saturday afternoon, Jan. 26, the
monthly Oneg Shabbat will take
place at the home of Mrs. William
B. Isenberg, 1222 Edison Ave. Ila-
dassah members are invited to at-
tend, and to hear a paper on "Jew-
ish Traditions and Ceremonials,"
by Mrs. Lawrence \V. Crohn; also,
a brief review of current happen-,
ings by Mrs. Jose•ph Magidsohn.
The social as well as the cultural
aspects of the Hadassah Oneg
Shabbat are serving to popularize
this monthly feature of the educk I
tional committee.
Next Wednesday, Jan. 30, at r
12:30, Hadassah tenders a mem-
bership luncheon at the Jewish
Community Center to all paid-up
members. Eligibility to attend this
luncheon is based upon payment of
dues. All reservations must be
made with Mrs. William B. Isen-
berg, Longfellow 7630, by Monday,
Jan. 28. An interesting program
will follow the luncheon, in the
form of Mrs. Samuel Schaflander's
discussion of the development of
Jewish music from ancient times
to the modern era. Mrs. Jacob S.
Sauls will illustrate the talk with
vocal selections.
Considerable interest has been
evoked by the announcement that
Rabbi Leon Fram is to give a
course of eight weekly lectures
each Wednesday, at 11 a. m., be-
ginning Feb. 13, at Temple Beth
El, on contemporary events of Jew-
ish significance. Registrations for
this study group, sponsored by Ila-
dassah, are being received by Mrs.
Schniarya Kleiman, Longfellow
6454, and Mrs. Carl S. Schiller,
Townsend 6-1308.
The Palestine School Luncheons

The Young Peoples Society of
Congregation Beth Abraham met
Jan. 17.
The club is planning a skating
and tobogganing party and a wie-
nie roast to be held at Rouge Park
on Sunday, Jan. 27.
On Jan. 31, the club will hold
an open meeting at which time Dr.
Jack Koenig will conclude his seri-
