The World War interrupted,
and when Citron went back to
school he was entitled to wear
the chevrons of a second lieu-
tenant of field artillery. Next
came Harvard Law School
which, the legend has it, Citron
entered with 15 cents in his
pocket. Working in a restaur-
ant plus some tutoring took
care of the finances.

Do you realize that simply by securing a GREAT-WEST
LIFE Double Protection Policy and making your first
deposit you can actually create an estate of $10,000
immediately-and take 20 years or more to pay for it?
It gives you double protection at the time you need it
most- for the lowest cost. Compared with ordinary life
insurance, should death occur before age 60 it pays-
twice the amount of insurance at much less than twice
the cost.

From a socio-political view-
point, Citron can be libeled a
liberal. As an organizer of the
Taxpayers' League of Middle-
town, Citron was an important
figure in the reform movement
that changed Middletown from
its Republicanism. In his cam-
paign for Congress, he was
supported by the American
Federation of Labor because of
his past record which included
votes for the liberalization of
Workmen's Compensation laws,
compulsory automobile insur-
ance, utility regulation and the
institution of laws for a retire-
ment pension system for state
employes. In this respect, he
also served on Governor Cross'
Old Age Pension Committee.
As a part of the Democratic
majority in the national govern.
ment, Citron should find him-
self at home as an advocate of
the New Deal social legislation
being pushed by President
Roosevelt. An intelligent law-
maker, his talents should find
wide scope at Washington. Per-
haps some day he, like his col-
league, Adolph J. Sabath of
Chicago, may be the senior
member of the House'of Repre-
sentatives, serving his 15th con-
secutive term in Congress.
