Halevy's Rhythm
Dance Next Week

The tenth jubilee rhythm dance
given by the Detroit Halevy Sing-
ing Society will take place next
Sunday evening, Dec. 9, in the
Spanish Grill Room of the Fort
Shelby Hotel, Lafayette and First
St. Dave Diamond will direct his
popular Della Robbie Orchestra.
This dance, which is the leading
event on the Ilalevy social calendar,
is expected to draw a record crowd.
The committee in charge of ar-
rangements, headed by Dr. Leon
Diskin and including Rebecca Rap-
paport and Bertha Glasser as hos-
tenses, promises an enjoyable eve-
ning.
Tickets may be obtained at re-
hearsals held regularly Monday
evenings in Room 123, Northern
High School, or at executive ses-
sions held Wednesday evenings at
Farband Folk Shule on 12th St.
Organizations may apply for tick-
ets at a discount.
Though the Halevy is at present
occupied in arranging an outside
affair, the choir loses no time in
preparing for its 10th jubilee mi.
cert. The choir is working inten-
sively and rehearsing sectionally as
well as in ensemble under the di-
rection of Dan Frohman, musical
director, assisted by Max Levy and
Emma aver.
lch
The new feature
of unison singing is being contin-
ued because of its appeal to the
members. The song studied at the
last rehearsal was Solomon Golub 'a
"Shlof in Sisse Ruh," a melodious
lullaby worthy of the composer's
best efforts.
