their plea, urging those who have

Peasants Aid Jews
Hit by Cuzist Band
KISHINOFF, Rumania.
(JTA) — Rumanian peasants
last Thursday came to the res-
cue of a group of Jews who
were being attacked by anti-
Semitic student adherents of
of Professor Alexander Cuza,
leader of the Rumanian anti-
Semitic coalition.
The student band attacked
the Jewish inhabitants of the
village of Straseni in the dis-
trict of Lapusna, smashing win-
dows in Jewish homes and
beating Jews on the streets.
They also attempted to de-
molish the synagogue.
Peasants, neighbors of the
Jewish villagers, rallied to the
defense of the Jews and beat
off the attackers. Gendarmes
were rushed to the scene.

BERNE, Switzerland — The criminal
libel trial against the Swiss Nazis, to prove
that the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" are
forgeries and falsehoods, was adjourned
Wednesday, the attorneys for the Jewish
cause deciding that it is for the best interests
of the Jewish people to give the defense every opportunity
to present its case. The case will be resumed in about a

The defendants are now given a chance to prove the
authenticity of the "Protocols," and must report when
the trial is resumed. The court appointed Lieut.-Col.

Germany, as an expert witness
to investigate the documents for
