COUNTY CLERK
On the occasion of Rosh Hashonah, 5695, it is my
sincere wish that the New Year be one of high
achievements, one of progress, one of faith, one of
hope, and one of charity. Let us all take upon our-
selves the responsibility of making it a year of in-
creased toleration, of increased sincerity, of in-
creased friendliness. By doing so we are bound to
make it one of increased happiness for ourselves
and our neighbors.

the case of the Prince of Rikkah,
translated into Hebrew. A Latin
translation was published in 1519
bearing the title "De Causis Ac-
cidentium Apparentium."
The above are only his prom-
inent essays and works on medi-
cine. Many more of a less impor-
tant character may be found in
manuscript form or in translations.
All his writings exhibit rare judg-
ment and keen penetration; his
arguments and deductions are sci-
entific and exact. He never spec-
ulates but quotes authority and
precedent.
He favored the theories of
Avicenna and Galen—who held in-
domitable sway over him—in his
medical treatises. He never devi-
ated from them in word or deed,
and which was common usage
among physicians during early
medieval medicine.
The summum bonum of the life
of Maimonides is a life replete
with the best of intellectual pur-
suit. His life was rich in learn-
ing,. rich in thought. rich in ex-
pe r n ience and rich in tolerance.
The old adage may be equally ap-
plied to this second Moses. "From
Moses unto Moses there was none
like Moses."
