The Hall of Religion itself ; houses exhibits of many of the greatest religions of the world and is intended to show the progress1 which mankind has achieved 1 through religion as a driving force •in the attainment of man to a •higher state of civilization. The ex- hibits have sought to give both the student of religion and the lay- man a panoramic view of the ma- terials around which have been woven the story of religion as the dynamic factor in the consecration of human life—human life in the service of high ethical values. The Jewish exhibit is a dramatic survey of contributions by the Jew ' to civilization. Limited as it is to the achievements of the Jew, par- ticularly in the last one hundred years, it has presented within well defined limitations a most remark- able story. Depicting the ideals of Judaism as given by prophet, sage and seer upon murals and using a series of illuminated slides,1 attention has been called to the contributions which Jews have made in the fields of art, music, literature, medicine, philanthropy, world peace, care of the sick, the aged, education, and economic up- In addition the slides building. indicate the institutions that the Jewish communities the world over have set up in order to carry out the ideals that Judaism has kept sacred. Cases containing articles of modern and ancient art, books old and new, items of a devotional nature and ceremonial objects have been placed on display. In the center of the murals and seising as a central element is placed an ark with the scrolls of the law. So unique and outstandint has been this Jewish exhibit that thou- sands, both Jew and non-Jew alike, have requested that a permanent record be made AO that informs. tornmight be available to those who could not personally attend. It was thought that there must be many who might desire descriptive data of the Exhibit, either as a permanent reminder of the pleasure derived from their visit or to use the data in programs. To meet this need ■ booklet of excellent workmanship was planned. In the preparation of this booklet pains- taking care was exercised. Two of America's foremost Jewish whal- ers, Dr. Louis I. Mann and Dr. Gerson B. Levi, who, incidentally, were responsible for the &Rem- Ming of the Jewish exhibit itself. undertook to write the descriptive material. These two thinkers pre- pared a booklet really worthy of their theme. They presented the materials of the exhibit with a .ympsthetic and appreciative un- derstanding which anyone. whether familiar or not 11 ith Jewish histor- ical knowledge, may genuinely en- joy. In order to give these booklet, as wide a circulation as possible, a nominal charge of 50 cents, merely to rover the cost of produc- tion, has been set. They are on sale at the Jewish exhibit in the Hall of Religion at a Century of Progress and at the office of the Jewish Exhibit Booklet Committee, 77 W. Washington St., Chicago. Kra. mer, along with Stanley Hose, who holds the United States interschol• astic titles for the 100 and 200 meter events are the outstanding Jewish swimmers in the country, today. Kramer won the 400 meter and the mile classic at Tel Aviv at the Jewish Maccaldad two years ago in l'alestine. This year he has won these events at every import- ant meet that the Maccabis have sponsored in Boston, hicago, New York, Cincinnati and Cleveland. On the cinder paths, Milton Sandler, 600 meter champion and record holder, standee supreme as the crack Jewish track athlete in America. At the 100 and 200 yard dashes, Syd Koff stands alone for running perfection, speed and grace. TENNIS, GOLF AND BASKETBALL Marco Hecht, Ernest Koslan and Millicent Hirsch are the autstand- ins Jewish tennis aces who have proved their work and ranking on the clay courts, the indoor arenas and the championship lawns of the nation. Millicent Ilirsch ranks number one in the women's E. S. I.. T. A. latest ratings. Hecht and Koslan have been improving with each match. Koslan recently start- led the tennis world by extending the great Jean Rorotra of France in four special sets.
