convention here Tuesday after adopting a
resolution upholding the supremacy of the
World Zionist Congress and indirectly con-
demning the separatistic political activities of the Revi-

The convention also went on record as favoring a
seat in the League of . Nations for the Jewish National

goods and services.
The Zionist organization indi-
cated a new note in its attitude
to Soviet Russia when it adopted
a resolution recognizing among
Soviet officials "sympathy toward
our efforts to procure freedom of
activity for Zionists in Russia.
The delegates also called on the
British government to modify its
restrictive immigration policy in
Palestine so greater numbers of
the persecuted Jews of Europe
might find a haven of refuge
there. The convention voted to
thank James G. McDonald, League
of Nations High Commissioner for
Refugees from Germany, for his
efforts on behalf of the Jewish
victims of Ilitlerism, and appealed
to Great Britain to open Trans-
jurdania for Jewish agricultural •
settlement and industrial develop-.
ment.

The introduction of the resolu-
tion affirming the covereignity of
the World Zionist Congress pro-
yoked the most bitter debate of
,the convention. The propouents
of the resolution, led by Louis
Lipsky, former president of the
Zionist Organization of America,
and member of the World Zionist
Executive, said the foundations of !
the Zionist movement and the ;
authority of elected leadership
was imperiled by the lack of dis-
cipline on the part of the Re,
visionists. Although the resolu-
tion was adopted unanimously, it
was the contention of those sym-
pathetic with the Revisionist point
of view that no discussion should
be held at the convention which
would in any way reflect upon
the Revisionists.

ing the authority of the Zionist
