On June 4, the Women's Aux-
iliary of the B'nai B'rith held the
final regular meeting of the sea-
son at the home of Mrs. Louis
Weiss, 4202 Leslie Ave.
A special committee was ap-
pointed to go to the Hillel Founda-
tion at Ann Arbor, Wednesday, to
arrange for active work in re-
decorating and refurnishing the
Mild house.
Another feature of the business

luncheon to be held the latter part
of October. Mrs. C. Filer has
been elected chairman of this
luncheoo•
A short program followed the
business meeting, consisting of a
few violin numbers rendered by
Miss Frances Seigel, and accom-

Luncheon

Melville S. Welt, reporting for
the special gifts division on Tues-
day, stated that his group had
conic of the largest donors on its
list for solicitation in the coining
three days, and workers remained
optimistic that the entire quota
will he raised when the drive
closes on Friday.
Roy R. Fisher presided at Tues-
day's luncheon and the principal
adderss was delivered by George
M. Stutz, assistant prosecuting at-
torney. Mr. Stutz complimented
the workers for their efforts, and
pointed out that the general divi-
sion's volunteers did well this year
in view of the fact that there are
only eight instead of 11 divisions
this year, each division having an
average quota of $8,000 as cum-

pared with last year's $5,000.
A total of $112,739 was an-
nounced raised at Wednesday's
luncheon.

"The campaign has two goals,"
said Rabbi Frani. "One is to
raise the $175,000. This is the
financial airs. The second is the
moral and spiritual-the goal to
make a demonstration of Jewish
unity and to enlist as many Jews
as possible ni the cause of Juda-
ism."
Rabbi Frail ridiculed the em-
phasis placed on misers in the
community. The niggardly givers,
he stated, always existed, yet the
community carried on without
them. Declaring that this drive
is closely bound up with the battle
on anti-Semitism, Rabbi Fram said
that the world must learn to see
that Jews are solid in the battle
against Jew-hatred. "When the
world sees our unity, the non-
Jews will join us in the fight for
human liberties," he saitl.

"You must make a brilliant
demonstration for the Jews of De-
troit in this fight on anti-Semit-
ism." he stated. "You must raise
the entire quota in the next few
days. We cannot let go of a sin-
gle possible dollar because so
much depends upon the entire
budget agreed upon. You are
the service of humanity and must
not falter."
A feature of Wednesday's
luncheon was the appearance of
0-year-old Charlotte Kruger, elo-

APPORTIONMENT OF
1934 ALLIED JEWISH
CAMPAIGN DOLLAR

(Continued from Inge One)

The keynote of Monday's lunch-
eon was s truck by Mr. Peiser when
hr decried disappointment and
discouragement. . Reminding t h e
workers that "shrouds have no
pockets and that money cannot
be taken along at the end of life,"
SIr. Peiser said •

"You can't afford to be discour-
aged, because innately there is
something about as that is good
and fine, and it is your duty to
gee out among the people in our
Community and awaken this fine
feeling within them. You must
do everything possible within your
power to make good. We are be-
ing watched by our conscience
and nothing else. and we have
nothing to fear because we live
in a great and fine country. Our
duty is plain: that this drive must
not fail, and that we must suc-
ceed."
