Wholesome Reading

Girls who are fascinated by
mystery stories will find whole-
some reading in Katharine Adams'
"Grey Eyes" (Slacmillan, $1.75).
This story about the Riviera, en-
livened with illustrations by Mar-
guerite Angell, tells of a friend-
ship between the American girl,
Janet, for a group of French peo-
ple whom she learns to admire.
Replete with action and fun,
this story is made interesting by
the numerous tales which dot its
pages, by the mingling of Ameri-
can, English and French charac-
ters, by the solving of the plot.
Here is an interesting plot writ-
ten in a style that makes very
wholesome reading for girls 13-15.

cially prominent and business
friends, were among the guests who
attended the opening of Newman-
Katser, new Ford agency at Dex-

evening. The curtain rose at it
o'clock, and did not descend until
long after midnight.
"An unique event" is the way Mr.

attended many openings in my time

the presentation and merchandis-

Floodlights illuminatstd the scene.
There was music, and the sales-
room was banked in flowers. Re-

Gus Newman and Ben Katser,
heads of the new agency, were
pleased by the response to the in-
vitation that they issued to their
friends. They convey their appre-
