BERLIN. (JTA)— New regula-
tions issued by Prussian Minister
of Education Dr. Bernhard Rust
in effect bar Jewish students from
higher educations and make cer-
tain that the Jewish colleges and
high schools in Germany, of which
there are a number, are con-
deemed to disappear.
The new regulations, which are
part of the Nazi law for combat-
ing the overcrowding of German
universities, colleges and high
schools, provide that Jewish col-
leges and high schools must not
enroll any new students this year.
The Jewish schools affected by
the laws are located in Frankfurt
am Main, Cologne and Breslau.
In the German universities and
colleges, the regulations provide
for the admission of Jews in ac-
cordance with their proportion in
the general population and in the
following order, students of mixed
"Aryan" and "non-Aryan" blood,
Jews whose families have been
resident in Germany for many
decade3, and finally Jewish stu-
dents whose families settled in
Germany more recently.
A clause in the new regulation
stipulates preference in admission
be given to "non-Aryan" students
against whom there is the least
objection from the Nazi point of
view.

heart appeals will be made by local and national Jewish leaders
to Detroit Jewry in behalf of the Allied Jewish Campaign to be
conducted here May 27 to June 7. This series of articles is
intended to clarify the issues facing this community and to point

By PHILIP SLOMOVITZ
Before an audience approximating 7,000 people, 60 per cent of whom were non-
Jews, the rich panorama of Jewish history unfolded itself lit the huge Olympia hall
on Monday evening, in the very beautiful spectacle, "The Romance of a People." The
presentation of this mammoth pageant continues at the Olympia, with the final per-
formance scheduled to take place on Sunday evening, unless there is a public demand
for additional performances.
Gorgeous in every respect, "The Romance of a People" is a fascinating work of
art. The more one sees it, the more he is certain to enjoy it and be thrilled by it.
For one who has witnessed its initial presentation in Chicago, on July 9, 1933, the Detroit showing
is a revelation. The rough spots have been smoothed out, important episodes have been added, the
original ones improved upon.
The entire spectacle is bewildering. Huge masses of people surge back and forth, Swiftly changing
costumes and make-up, forming a very intelligent cast of characters. It is impossible to conceive of
amateurs, who were trained for a very short time and who were brought together in only two general
rehearsals, performing so difficult a task so well.
Artistic Directors
