Joseph Sprintzak To Be the
Principal Speaker at
Dinner Feb. 18.

Reports given before the Ge-
werkshaften campaign conference
at its weekly Thursday evening
sessions, held at 8679 Twelfth
street show con-
tinued progress
in the fund-rais-
ing, drive prelim-
inary to the
grand reception
banquet which
will be held on
Feb. 18, at By-
ron - Philadelphia
Hall.
Joseph Sprint-
zak, chief ofthe
L. Rosenberg 1 9 3 4 Palestine
labor delegation to the United
States and Canada, will be the
guest of honor and chief speaker
at this banquet. Sprintzak, one
of the early leaders in the Pales-
tine labor movement, is a leading
figure in the General Federation
of Jewish Labor in Palestine, com-
monly known as the Histudruth.
The program at the banquet will
be featured by the appearance of
two artists—Cantor J. II. Sonen-
blur of Shaarey Zedek, and Emma
Lozaroff Scheyer, who recently
achieved new prominence through
her local debut with the San Carlo
Company in Gounod's "Faust."
A contributing factor to the
success of the campaign this year
is the precedented participation of
well known Jewish societies. One
of the campaign's active workers,
and a vice-president in the cam-
paign board, is L. Rosenberg, a
prominent member and past presi-
dent of the Radomer Aid Society,
which he represents at the confer-
ence. Rosenberg, who has had an
interesting career as a Jewish
journalist and pedagogue in Tor-
onto and Windsor, has been most
successful in soliciting and ob-
taining the support of his numer-
ous friends and acquaintances for
the historical efforts of the organ-
ized Jewish workers in Palestine.
