BERLIN.—(JTA) —A split 10
the Nazi ranks on the question of
depriving Jews of citizenship
rights was revealed by Wilhelm
Kube, former leader of the Nazi
faction in the Prussian Diet, in
an article in the Maerkischer
Adler.
Kube demands the complete
elimination of Jews from every
sphere of German life without ex-
ception and insists that no conces-
sions be made in this program.
He criticizezd bitterly the tolera-

Kube insists that whatever the
views of some members of the
Nazi cabinet may be on the fate
of German Jewry, the Jews must
not be permitted to retain German
citizenship.

Karaite Sect Seeks
To Enter Palestine

WARSAW.—(JTA)—A sen-
sation was created here when it
became known that members of
the Karaite sect, which follows
the Bible literally and rejects
completely the rabbinical and
Talmudic learning, and who con-
sider themselves the "true
Jews," have applied for immi-
gration certificates to Palestine.
Members of the sect are study-
ing Hebrew and training them-
selves to become pioneers in Pal-
estine, it was announced.
A group of delegates from the
sect headed by the "Chatham"
of Vohlyn, their rabbi, arrived
on foot at the Warsaw office in
charge of Palestine immigration
and asked for certificates under
the Jewish Agency for Pales-
tine quota.

An organization adequate to in-
sure Kashruth in Detroit will be
formed here by a council of local
synagogues organized as a result
of a series of meetings held un-
der the chairmanship of Rabbi
A. M. Hershman.
Definite decisions for the for-
mation of such a central organi-
zation were reached at a meeting
of representatives of 22 syna-
gogues held at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek last Sunday after-
noon.
Findings and recommendations
of a survey committee on the
Kashruth question were submitted
to this meeting. The survey com-
mittee which was chosen at a
meeting held on Nov. 15 consists
of Maurice H. Zackheim, J. K.
Smith and Ben F. Goldman. This
committee was empowered to hire
a man to conduct the desired sur-
vey. At the conclusion of the
findings submitted at Sunday's
meeting, the committee stated:

Ukrainians Terrorize
East Galician Jewry

LONDON.— (JTA)--The
Jewish population of East Gal-
icia in Poland is being terrorized
by their Ukrainian neighbors in
'a manner that is reminiscent of
the progrom period of Bogdan
Chmelnitzki, a special correspon-
dent of the London Jewish
Chronicle reports. There are
586,000 Jews in East Galicia
and 713,000 of them reside in vil-
lages. They hive been engaged
in agriculture since' the seven-
teenth century. Many combine
farming and shopkeeping.
These Jewish farmers are now
the target of the most violent
