Greenberg of New York, vice-presi-
dent of national Hadassah.
Mrs. Greenberg is making a tour
of Michigan cities on behalf of Ha-
dassah. After having been active
in Hadassah work id New York,
Mrs. Greenberg was elected nation-
al treasurer, a position which she
held until she left for a year's
residence abroad. While there, Mrs.
Greenberg made a trip to Palestine
with Mrs. Edward Jacobs, at that
time national president, for the
purpose of observing Hadassah in
stitutions at first hand. She has
twice attended the World Zionist
Congresses as a liadassah delegate,
in 1931 at Basle and in 1933 at
Prague. Upon her return in 1931
she became national advisor to Jun-
ior Hadassah and chairman of the
committee on Zionist information,
which post she held until a year
ago, when robe became chairman of
the Palestine committee. Mrs.
Greenberg's work for Hadassah
brings her into contort with all
phases of Zionist endeavor, thus
enabling her to give her audience
the latest authoritative informa-
tion.
Current events will also be pre-
sented at this meeting by Mrs.
Schmarya Kleiman, chairman of
the educational committee.
Members of Hadassah are invit-
ed to bring their friends to this
meeting.
Recent statistics for Palestine
give the general death rate per
1,000 f orall the population as 26
among Moslems, 15 among Chris-
tians and nine among Jews.

Final arrangements have been
completed for the second annual $5
donor luncheon which is to be given
by the Womens Auxiliary of the
United Ilebrew Schools on Wed-
nesday, Jan. 24, 12:30 p. m., at
Hotel Statler. Every effort has
been exercised by the various com-
mittees, under the leadership of
Mrs. George M. Roberts, chairman
of the donor luncheon, to make this
event a success.
An elaborate program has been
arranged with Mrs. H. S. David-
owitz of Cleveland as guest speak-
er for the afternoon. Bernard
Isaacs, superintendent of the Uni.
ted Hebrew Schools, has written a
play in Hebrew especially adapted

to this occasion. It will be dram-
atized by pupils of the United' He-
brew Schools. An unusually fine
musical program has also been ar-
ranged.

A small group of eight women
started 13 yearn ago, in the name
of Zedakah, to give what aid they
could to those in need. That
small circle has grown to a group
of 100 women, and the scope of
their work has become much
wider.
To help the aged in distress, to
gitm immediate relief to families
in need, to furnish layettes for
newborn babes—these are the ob-
jects of Zedakah Club. The pro-
ceeds from all social activities are
used to carry on these efforts.
Mrs. Morris Davis is chairman
of Zedakah's birthday dinner-
dance, and Mrs. Paul Deutsch is
co-chairman.
Reservations may be made by

4031,3, or Mrs. Deutsch, Long-

Zedakah's second pep rally will
take place Monday afternoon, Jan.
22, at 1:30 p. m., at the Stetter
Hotel. Philip Slomovitz, editor of
The Detroit Jewish Chronicle, will
be the speaker of the afternoon.
The rally will be held in the inter-
ests of the second annual donor
luncheon, which will take place
Feb. 28 at the Masonic Temple.
