THE LEGAL CHRONICLE

Good News for Depositors

Proxies in the hands of the
Depositors' Committee of
Guardian National Bank of
Commerce now represent
more than FIFTY MILLION
DOLLARS of the Deposit
Liability of that bank.

This is the committee author-
ized by Judge Adolph F.
Marschner of the Wayne
Circuit Court on petition of
Honorable Alex J. Groes-
beck, receiver for Guardian
Detroit Union Group.

These proxies are needed to
give your committee author-
ity to negotiate with the U. S.
Government in forming a

plan for the prompt payment
to the depositors of the bal-
ances due them and for the
further distribution of the
Bank's assets in an equitable
and orderly manner.
Proxies have been received
from thousands of small de-
positors representing more
than $2,000,000 and from a
great majority of the large
depositors such as:
The State of Michigan, in-
cluding nine separate ac-
counts in the name of
Theodore I. Fry, State
Treasurer.
The Great Atlantic &
Pacific Tea Co.

and hundreds of other leading Detroit
and Michigan Commercial, Industrial,
Civic and Fiduciary Organizations.

Proxy for Depositors

But the committee wants to go
to Washington, D. C., with as
nearly 100 per cent backing
as possible. Many who have
expressed a willingness to sign
proxies have neglected to do
so. For your convenience a
proxy appears on this page.
Tear it out, sign it and mail to

Quick action is necessary. The
work of this committee inter-
feres in no way with any prom-
