TO HINDENDURG TO SAVE GERMAN JEWS
An open letter wan addressed to President Paul von
Hindenburg of Germany by the American Jewish Congress,
appealing to him to exercise his prerogatives as president
to save the Jewish inhabitants of his country from certain
extermination under the Hitler regime and the German
nation from the ostracism of the civilized world.
The letter, issued in behalf of the American Jewish
Congress by Bernard S. De utsch, president, points out that
tinder the Enabling Act of March 23, 1933, the preroga-
tives of the president remain unimpaired, and that those Dinner•Dance Sunday of
J. W. E. W. 0. Branch
prerogatives include the power to appoint and dismiss the
chancellor.
