of the Men's Club of Congrega-
tion Shaarey Zedek will be held
Thursday evening, Dec. 16, at the
synagogue.
This meeting will be featured
by entertainment and there will
be a debate on the subject, "Re-
solved, that a Jewish University Be
Established in the United States."
Arthur Purdy, president, an-
nounces that membership is open
to all men, and that it is not nec-
essary for them to be members
of the congregation to be eligible
to join.

"If I Were a Layman" will be

the topic of an address to be de-
livered by Rabbi Harry Zwillig of
Congregation Anshe Ernes of
Chicago at the Friday evening,
services at Shaarey Zedek, Chi-1
cago and Lawton, on Dec. 16.

Louis Redstone Exhibits'
Water Color Paintings.

An exhibition of water color
paintings and drawings by Louis
Redstone, to be held at his studio
at 1450 East Jefferson, started
Friday evening, Dec. 9, with a
reception for friends. The exhi-
bition is open to the public till
Dec. 19, from 1 to 9 o'clock daily.
The subjects vary. There is a
group of paintings from Northern
Michigan depicting fishermen's
houses and landscapes, another
group shows the Detroit so-called
"Jungle" where ■ lot of unem
ployed live in primitive sheter.
Thete are also on view several
pieces of sculpture, portraits and
other compositions.
