The next meeting of the society
will be held on Dec. 11, at the
synagogue, and will be open to
members only. Professor Roberts
of the Detroit College of Law will
display films which he took in
Africa, and will deliver a lecture.

Spinoza Debate at

B'rith, will hold its annual New
Year's Eve party at the Ever-
glades Club of the Tuller
Hotel on Saturday evening, Dec.
31. Reservations are now being
received by Elias Goldberg, chair-
man of the committee, who can
be reached during the day at
Townsend 6-1500, and in the eve-
ning at University 2.3518. At the
meeting last Monday night sev-
eral reservations were received
and the committee advises that
reservations be mad early in order
to procure a choice table. A full
course dinner will be served. Fur-
ther details will appear in The
Chronicle next week.
The bi-weekly meeting of Pis-
gah Lodge last Monday night was
featured by a debate on the sub-
ject "Was the Amsterdam Kehil-
lab right In placing the Ban (Cher-
em) on Spinoza?" Aaron Rosen-
berg, third vice-president and
chairman of the intellectual ad-
vancement committee, was chair-
man of the debate and, in intro-
ducing the topic, gave a brief his-
torical summary of the period as
well as the life of Spinoza. Ben
F. Goldman spoke for the affirma-
tive while Henry M. Abramovitz
spoke for the negative side. Fol-
lowing the debate, a discussion of
the subject among the members
prevailed for more than an hour.

Pisgah Lodge, bid Daddy Adolph
Freund "God speed" on his an-
nual journey to Florida for the
winter. Dave Diamond of the
Dave Diamond-Jules Klien Orches-
tra rendered several violin solos,
accompanied by J. S. Stevens.

of Pisgah Lodge, wan delegated
