sure you that I greatly appre-
ciate the Spinoza Tri-centenial
Committee's initiative in thus per-
petuating Spinoza's memory in
one of this country's moat impor-
tant cities."

present Governor Brucker at the
celebration on Sunday.
The occasion of the Spinoza
Tri-Centenial Celebration is util-
ized for a lengthy editorial in this
issue, as well as for other feat-
ures, including a scholarly article
by Dr. Bernard Heller, director of
the Hillel Foundation of the Uni-
versity of Michigan at Ann Arbor,
and poems especially written for
The Detroit Jewish Chronicle.

Dr. Harry A. Topcik, a volunteer

Brief remarks by Dr. Franklin,

the lodge, Mr. Metzger welcomed
the new members, the guests at
the banquet, out-of-town guests
and the visiting members from
