Gifts to Community Fund from Personnel of North End Clinic --- In 1932 the Personnel of North End Clinic joined with the other Community Fund agencies in pledging a percen- tage of their salaries to the Community Fund because of the serious situation. In 1931 the pledges were on a purely voluntary basis and again are for 1933. These two years therefore are comparable. In both years the entire per- sonnel pledged. In 1931 there were 42 people employed by North End Clinic (two only part time). These 42 gave $570.75 on total sal- aries received of about 152000, for the year or 1.1 per cent. The average pledge was $13.59. Of those 42, only 35 positions (one part time) will exist in 1933. These 35 people will re- ceive 12 per cent less in sal- aries in 1933 than in 1931. In 1931 these' 35 people pledged $487.25. In spite of the 12 per cent reduction in salaries they have pledged $467.30 for 1933-only $20 less than in 1931, On a purely voluntary basis the average pledge for the 35 in 1933, in spite of reduced salaries, is $13.35; for the 42 in 1931 it was $13.59. This year as formerly the solicitation has been in charge of Miss Flora M. Burghdorf, the assistant director.
