NEW YORK.—(J. T. A.)—The
progress of Hadassah work in
Palestine was fully reported upon
and discussed at great length at
the eighteenth annual convention
of the Women's Zionist Organiza-
tion of America, which opened
Sunday morning at the Hotel
Commodore.
At the same time Zionist lead-
ers of all groups emphasized the
far-reaching importance of Ha-
dassah's efforts and praised those
responsible for its achievements
in Palestine.
Mrs. Edward Jacobs, national
president of Hadassah, opened the
convention in the presence of
more than 1,500 women and in
her report indicated what had
been accomplished during the past
12 months.
"There is real hope," stated Mrs.
Jacobs, "at last of having exe-
cuted the first steps in erecting

Commencement Exercises To Be
Held on Simchas Torah.

All announcements should be in early to
assure proper classification. The charge
for these notices is $1.

Registrations for the Shaarey
Zedek Sunday School will take place
daily from 4 to 6 p. m. In the
office of the synagogue during Oct.

urged to take advantage of the
opportunities offered by the school.
Teachers will be provided for all
children from pre-kindergarten age
to those attending college. Chit-

The term will begin with the
commencement exercises to be held
on Oct. 23, for those who passed the
eighth and twelfth grades last June.
These exercises have become an in-
tegral part of the Simchas Torah
celebration at Shaarey Zedek. The
