BUSCH CANDIDATE FOR
LANSING'S MAYORALTY
Petitions have been placed in
circulation in Lansing for the
nomination of Mr. Busch, presi-
dent of the Salton Jewelry com-
pany and active figure in civic af-
fairs, as a candidate for the office
of mayor.
While the petitions have ap-
peared, Mr. Busch has made no
announcement as to whether or
not he will be a candidate, but he
is understood to have the proposal
under consideration.
Mr. Busch has served as presi-
dent of the Lansing Merchants'
Association, Inc., as a member of
the board of police and fire com-
missioners and as a member of the
city traffic commission. He also
has served on several other civic
organizations of an unofficial na-
ture.

in Lansing.

have been mentioned Mayor Peter

announced hit candidacy, having
Issued a statement recently to the

A need for additional volun-
teer dentists to staff the dental
department of the North End
Clinic was voiced recently by
its active head, Dr. Arthur A.
Ginsberg.
The department, which was
originally manned by one den-
tist and equipped with n single
unit, a donation from Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Kahn, has just
completed eight years of serv-
ice to the Jewish community. In
this time the department has
grown s othat it now ins an ex-
cellent staff and most modern!
equipment with which to tale
for the indigent public.
All patients admitted are
carefully examined, and if their
condition is of an emergency
nature, as abscesses, trench
mouth, fractured jaws, small
tumors, etc., treatment is given.
Extractions and orthodontia are
done by capable men, but in
general reconstruction work is
not encouraged. Another activ-
ity of the department is to
work hand in hand with the
medical staff in the elimination
of possible dental causes of
such diseases as arthritis and
inflammation of the eye. Den-
tal hygienists, who take care of
prophylaxis, also assist in the
work.
The patients who apply are
carefully investigated by the
social service department to ex-
clude those able to pay.
The increasing number of
acute cases necessitates addi-
tional dentists to carry on this
important work. It is hoped
that a number of dentists will
offer their assistance. Full in-
formation as to the work may
be obtained from Dr. Ginsberg
,..or at the North End Clinic.

Toronto, Florence Golden, Rebec-
ca Linder of Flint, Rose Brooks,

Morris Golden of Toronto, harry
Nelson and David Shaw.

and Alice Rabin. The ring bearer

den, brother of the groom, sang
at the ceremony.
The bride wore a gown of white
satin, and a train finished with a
long pointed sleeve.
Among the out-of-town guests
were Miss Anne Goldenberg of
New York, Mrs. I. Abrams and
Mrs. M. Abrams of Chicago, and

and South Haven for their honey-
moon. The bride wore a brown
and chartreuse wool crepe frock
with a short cape, with which she
wore brown accessories, for trav-
eling. The couple will reside in

On August 21 the Mizrachi
Youth is planning an outing to be
held at Belle Isle. Several mem-
bers, including 11. Eakin, II. Shech-
ter, E. Edelman and F. Katt, plan
to spend their vacations at the
Mizrachi Junior's cottage in Michi-
gan City, Ill.
At the meeting held on July 26,
Rabbi Joshua S. Sperka of Mt.
Clemens and his wife were guests
of the organization. Rabbi Sperka
addressed the audience on the life
work of Theodor lierzl.
The name Mizrachi Youth. will
henceforth be used in the English
press, as the English translation of

appeared in The Detroit Jewish
