NEW YORK.—(J. T. A.)—Two
Jewish national organizations, rep-
resenting through their membership
tens of thousands of American
Jews, have decided to participate
in the nation-wide movement for
the planting in Palestine of a
George Washington Forest to com-
memorate the bicentennial miniver-
sary of his birth, it was announced
b y Nelson Ruttenberg, chairman of
a national committee of all faiths
sponsoring the project, and presi-
dent of the Jewish National Fund
of America,

As the national committee is
pushing plans for the observance on
June II, in accordance with a de-
cision of the Rabbinical Assembly
of America, as "George Washing-
ton Sabbath" in the Conservative
synagogues throughout the country,
