Beethoven Sonatas to be
Played by Dr. Gunzburg
Next Friday.

The fourth of a series of all the
Beethoven Sonatas arranged by
Dr. Mark Bunzburg will be given
Fridaq evening, May 13, at the De-
troit Institute of Arts.
He will play the Sonatas Op. 14
No. 1 in E major and Op. 14 No.
2 in G major and Op. 22 in B flat
major for piano solo and with
Mme. Jeanne Reol Resume, the
ciolin-piano Sonata Op. 12 No. 3
In E fiat major. Altogether in
these four programs were played
10 Sonatas, 11 for piano solo,
three with violin, two with violon-
cello, one with French horn and
one for piano duet.
Dr. Gunzburg intends to end his
series of Beethoven Sonatas next
season. He will divide the 31
Sonatas (Beethoven composed 49)
In seven programs. These recitals
are forming part of the free con-
certs sponsored by the art com-
mission of the Detroit Institute of
Arts.

Helen Hayes in "The Good
Fairy" at Cass Theater.

Helen Hayes will begin a week's
engagement Monday evening, May
9, at the Cass Theater in Ferenc
Molnar'se comedy, "The Good
Fairy." She will be supported by
the cast that appeared with her
throughout the all-season run just
ended at Henry Miller's theater in
New York.
"The Good Fairy" has won in-
ternational approval. It was first
produced in Molnar's native city,
Budapest, and scored an immedi-
ate hit. Later, when staged by
May Reinhardt in Vienna and Ber-
lin, It duplicated its initial Hun-
garian triumph. Here in America,
with Miss Hayes as the fascinating
young movie theater usher, who
proves a good fairy to everyone
with whom she comes in contact,

IMMIGRATION VISAS

Granted to Jewish Agency
for Six-Month Period,
Until October.

JERUSALEM.- (J. T. A.)-The
Jewish Agency Executive informed
the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that
the Palestine government has
granted it 2,000 immigration certifi-
cates for the six month period from
April to October.
The Jewish Agency had request-
ed a total of 3,750 certificates.
Three hundred certificates were
reserved by the government for
tourists remaining in the country.
The balance of 1,700 certificates
includes 400 certificates for
women.
It is understood that the execu-
tive of the Jewish Agency is dis-
satisfied with the cut in the num-
ber and has asked the government
to explain its reasons for this ac-
tion.
