Jewish Medical Students.
VIENNA.—(J. T. A.)—More

than 2,700 Jewish students are at-
tending classes in the various col-
leges of this city, according to fig.
ures made available. The total
number of students in these insti-
tutions, official statistics show, is
12,365.
The largest number of Jewish
students are to be found in the
medical classes, where more than
1,000 are attending. Seven hun-
dred and seventy-one are devoting
Lhmselves to philosophy, 551 are
preparing for the legal profession,
while 408 are attending technical
institutes.

awarded the Newell Sill Jenkens
Memorial Medal by the Connecti-
cut State Dental Association. This
medal, which is made for notable
contributions to dentistry, science
or humanity, was presented last
year to the late George Eastman.
Dean Winternitz, who was one
of the founders of the Institute of
Human Relations at Yale, Is a
graduate of Johns Hopkins Uni-
versity and joined the Yale faculty
in 1917 as professor of medicine.
Ile has been dean of the Yale
Medical School since 1920 and has
received the honorary degree of
Master of Arts from Yale.
