MAY CELEBRATION

Featherweight
and Easy toWear

While devoting all its efforts to
final preparations for its seventh
annual concert, the Detroit lialevy-
liazomir Singing Society has accep-
ted the invitation of the workers'
groups of Detroit to participate in
their annual May Day.
Unlike previous years, when the
various workers' clubs celebrated
separately, this year will find a
combined celebration of all organ-
izations, and as the representatives
of the Jewish group, the Ilalevy-
Hazomir will sing several numbers
under the direction of William Cay-
man, associate conductor of the or-
ganization.
At the last meeting of the execu-
tive group it was also decided to
send delegates to the annual con-
vention at Battle Creek, April 13-
16, of the Michigan Federation of
Music Clubs, which the Halevy re-
cently joined. The Detroit Halevy
representation includes: Prof. E.
Zaludkowski, musical director of
the organization; Eugene Franz-
blau, president, William Klein, Mr,'
and Mrs. F. Alterman and J. Bis-
tritsky.
Because of the Passover holiday,
rehearsals this coming week will
be held on Monday and TueSelay
evenings, April 18 and 19, and next
week on Mnoday and Thursday,
April 25 and 28.

SHETZER TO SPEAK
OVER RADIO SUNDAY

Wholesale Merchants Bureau of the
Detroit Board of Commerce, will be

Status of the Jewish, Middleman."
Mr. Shetzer has been active for
many years in the wholesale and
credit business, is a former presi-
dent of the Wholesale Dry-Goods
and Apparel Credit Association and
has a thorough knowledge of the
subject. He is president of the
Men's Club of Congregation Shaar-
ey Zedek and is a former president
of the Zionist District of Detroit.

ish Folk music, who will make her
first concert appearance in Detroit
within a few weeks. She will be
accompanied by Edith Shoob.
Aaron Kurland, chairmen of the

PALESTINE MATZOS
NOW ON SALE HERE

Yeshiva Beth Judah of Pingree
and Woodrow Wilson this week
renewed its appeal for funds, and
warned Detroit jewry that unless
aid is forthcoming the school is in
danger of closing.
Yeshiva officials stated that ap-
peals will be made in synagogues
preceding Haskorath Neshomoth,
on the last day of Passover, Thurs-
day, April 28. It is pointed out
that the Yeshiva has a "chazakah"
—preference for an appeal—on
this day, such appeals having been
made on Achron shel Pesach in all
congregations for the past four
years.
The appeal is under the super-
vision of the board of directors of
Yeshiva Beth Judah and of the
Vaad Ilorabonim.
