YOUNG ISRAEL SABBATH
COMMITTEE PLAN WORK LOCAL DEBATER TO BE
IN NATIONAL AFFAIR
The following amendment was
recently passed by the constituent
organizations of the National
Council of Young Israel: "Re-
solved, that a Sabbath committee
be created which shall act on all
matters of vital importance to
Sabbath observing Jewry."
The Sabbath committee in
charge here is headed by Abbe
Levi. This committee is planning
to work towards securing the as-
sistance of the Jewish consumers
in making it possible for Jewish
storekeepers to close on Saturday
and Jewish holidays.
A more detailed statement will
be announced at the next regular
meeting of Young Israel, which
is to be held Wednesday evening,
April 13, at Hotel Statler. The
program of this meeting will con-
sist of a discussion of "Jewish
Humor."
The next meeting of the inter-
mediate Young Israel group will
be held on Sunday, April 10, at
2:30, at the Philadelphia-Byron
Hall.
