MAKE PLANS FOR COUNCIL TRIENNIAL

(Continued from Page One.)

Jewish Forum Will Present
Aaron D. Markson as
Guest Speaker.

The Jewish Radio Forum will
present next Sunday, March 20, a
Purim program over WJBK from
5 to 5:30 p. m.
Aaron D. Marknon, principal of
the High School of the United lie-
brew Schools, will speak on the
significance of Purim. Mr. Mark-
son is a Hebrew scholar and is
noted as one of the ablest students
of Jewish history. Miss Natalie
Marwil, who has spent several
months in Palestine, will give her
impressions of a Purim in Pales-
tine.
The musical program will fea-
ture songs of Purim by Hyman
Cohen, a talented baritone, accom-
panied by Esther Cohen, pianist,
his daughter.
Aaron Kurland, attorney, is
chairman of the Jewish Radio
Forum committee and will be in
charge next Sunday.
Last Sunday, March 13, the
speaker was Milton M. Alexander,
nationally known advertising man
and social worker. Mr. Alexan-
der spoke on the subject "The
American Attitude Toward Hit-
ler." In his remarks Mr. Alexan-
der outlined the growth of the
myth of the "Protocols of the
Elders of Zion" and pointed to the
manner in which hatred developed
from such fairy tales, long proven
to be forgeries but picked up by
professional anti-Semites from
time to time and used in their
preachments against Jews.

Local leaders of the Council of Jewish Women met last week at the building of the Young
Women's Hebrew Association, 89 Rowena, to plan for the triennial convention to be held here for the
week beginning March 27. From left to right they are: Mrs. Isaac Gilbert, Mrs. David J. Levy, Mrs.
Max May, Miss Emma Butzel, Mrs. Regene Freund Cohane and Mrs. Samuel Glogower. Mrs. Fred
Ginsburg, president of the Detroit Council, is seated.
