of careful acoustical treatment,
there is no difficulty in hearing a
speaker anywhere in the audito-

through the stained windows on
both right and left and from the

towering in majestic mien, highly
polished pillars in subdued colors
add an air of divine strength and
omnipotence. The valued ceiling in
soft hues accentuates the atmo-
sphere of holiness and spirituality.
Social Hall Seats 800
In the basement under the main
auditorium is a social hall seating
800 persons and a kitchen and
pantry both fully equipped. At
one end of the social hall is a
stage where the Junior Young
People's Society have already giv-
en one dramatic offering and
which other organizations plan to
use for programs from time to
tine. Lounges are in the rear of J

the stage. The lobby and check
room in the basement may be
reached from both sides of the
main entrance or from the Lawton
street approach.
On the first floor in back of the
Oron is a small room for the rabbi
containing closets for books and
gowns. Adjoining is a room for
the cantor and choir from which
steps lead to the choir loft over
the Oron.
The business office is located on
the first floor, just to the left of
the Lawton entrance. Opposite is
a large library with built-in book-
cases and furnished with reading
tables and chairs. When the li-
brary books will be catalogued,
the room will be open to commu-
nity reading.
Next to the library is a daily
prayer room accommodating 75
persons. At the hack are concealed
shelves for Tallethim and Siddu-
rim.
On the second floor are eight
large and airy rooms for Sunday
School and religious training uses.
Facing Lawton is a suite for the
director of the school. Six more
classrooms are situated on the
third floor.
Plan Additional Floor
In addition to these a wing is
planned which will contain a large
lounge for women on the first
floor. There will also be erected
an auditorium seating 300 persons
with a stage and dressing rooms.
