Population, 1,127 (1930 U. S.
census). Located in Bloomfield
township, Oakland county, on the
superhighway U. S. 10, five miles
south of Pontiac, the judicial seat,
and 20 miles north of the City
Hall of Detroit.
Incorporated as a village on
Jan. 24, 1927, it comprises five
square miles, running for 2%
north from the city limits of Bir-
mingham and one mile on either
side of Woodward avenue.
It is bounded on the west by
Lahser road, on the east by Squir-
rel road, on the south by Quarton
Lake road, and on the north by
Hickory Grove road.
Its business section is restricted
by zoning ordinance to 800 feet
