the best trained and the ablest workers

training it gives the girls during the time
they remain unemployed, in order to keep
them in practice in their various callings—
these and many other qualities make the
help available from the Young Women's
Hebrew Association employment bureau
superior perhaps to those procurable from
other agencies. The only problem there-
fore is not that of the right kind of help, but
of securing jobs.
The purpose of our writing at length on
this subject at this time is to impress upon
possible employers the need for creating
jobs whenever possible, and to advise them
of the existence of an agency which func-
tions not for profit but for the sole purpose
of aiding the unemployed Jewish girls, and
in many instances the unemployed Jewish
boys as well as men and women. We plead
with employers in behalf of the Y. W. H. A.
bureau that they do everything possible to
supply jobs to these unemployed. If per-
manent jobs are not available, part time
jobs, employment by the day or even work
to be taken out to be done either at the
Y. W. 11. A. offices or the girls' homes, will
be welcomed. Typing, circularization, ad-
dressing,
K, folding and varied other jobs must
be available from time to time. The Y. W.
H. A. has the facilities for it. Let the com-
munity co-operate with it if it desires to
avert despair.
We deviate from established policy and
even list telephone numbers and an address
in these columns in our plea in behalf of
the employment bureau of the Young
Women's Hebrew Association and the un-
employed it aims to help. We urge em-
ployers to communicate with Miss Feldman
or Miss Connell at 89 Rowena, telephones
Columbia 5621 or Glendale 7971, whenever
any type of job is available. A day's work,
or even an hour's work, may save the faith
and fate of a human being.
