A.)—The initial two volumes of the first English translation of the Zo- bar, the chief source book a Cabbalistic literature, will be published in November by the Soncino Pres, it was announced here. The work will be issued in five volumes of about 400 pages each. The edition will be limited to 1,250 numbered sets. The original of the Zohar is written in Hebrew and Artunaic. The translator, Henry Sperl- ing, has for many year nude a special study of the Cabbala and the Zohar and has written a number of monographs on the subject. Ile has worked in col- laboration with Maurice Simon, who is the author of several studies in Jewish literature and has had the assistance of a num- ber of scholars intimately ac- quainted with English and Jew- ish literature.
