On Friday evening, Feb. 6, re-
ligious services at Temple Beth El
were given an added interest by
presence here of Rabbi Philip
Jaffa, field representative of the
Union of American Hebrew Con-
gregations. Beautiful renditions
of traditional Hebrew chants
given by both Rabbi Jaffa and the
choir marked the celebration of
the festival, the Sabbath of Song.
Maurice Goldblatt, officiating
rabbi, spoke most impressively
upon the timely subject, "Hebrew
Melody—Song of the Age," Af-
terward, an informal reception
was enjoyed in the community
rooms of the Temple.

Miss Claire Grant entertained
1 28 of the younger set at a dinner-
dance at the Phoenix Club On Feb.
7, in honor of her sixteenth birth-

mester honor roll announcement
