Dear Mr. Slomovitz:
I am writing this letter to you,
hoping that you will print it in
The Jewish Chronicle:
No doubt you will recall having
helped me with a letter of recom-
mendation to win the scholarship
entitling me to a three-year course
in scientific farming in the Nation-
al Farm School, Penn.
I now wish to thank you again
and to thank the other worthy cit-
izens of Detroit: Rabbi Leo Frank-
lin, Bernard Isaacs, and the Mich-
igan State Representative of the
National Farm School, Aaron De-
Roy, for having helped ow to this
excellent opportunity for acquiring
a scientific and practical training
in the most modern methods of
farming.
As a student there for over a
half a year, I feel that I ought to
tell everybody, especially the eligi-
ble young men of Michigan, about
this National Farm School, which
combines the theoretic and scientific
aspects of farming with their prac-
ti•al application, thus giving to
those who love outdoor life an all-
roundenjoyable course of study.
For all this the school is most
favorably situated. It has about
1,500 acres of land, the most mod-
ern farming intnplements, labora-
tories and general equipment. Nor
is the social life neglected; we have
a fine athletic field, teams, and clubs
of all kinds, and all under excel-
lent supervision of Mr. Samuel B.
Samuels. Fine school buildings,
dormitories, library club rooms,
situated in the most beautiful part
of the country near Philadelphia,
help to make this the finest and
best schools of its kind.
Again, I wish to express my
thankfulness to those whose recom-
mendations have helped me to the
scholarship of the three-year course
of scientifie farming, in the Na-
tional Farm School, Pa.. and I sin-
cerely hope that of those young
men, who can qualify, and love to
live close to nature, some will
make a real effort to avid them-
selves of this wonderful opportun-
ity.
Yours thankfully.
