FOSTER PARENTS CLUB
HAS INSPIRING RALLY
The first meeting of the Foster
Parents Club of the Jewish Child
Care Council, held in the Assem-
bly room of Temple Beth El, on
Feb. 5, exceeded all expectations o f
the a rrangements COMM it tee.
The meeting was marked by a,
spirit of co-operation and concern
about the welfare of the children !
who have no natural homes. Ev.
eryone present at this meeting
went away with a new faith in hu-
nian nature and with a greater de-
termination to carry on the work
already started.
About 85 foster parents were
present, as well as a number of
people actively interested in the I
work of the Council.
Mrs. J. Factor, the first woman
to open her home to the children
cared for by the Council, presided.
Fred Butte!, chairman of the case '
committee of the Jewish Child Care i
Council, addressed the meeting. •
Mrs. Edith B. Bercovich, director
of the council, expressed her sat-
isfaction and gratitude for the tine
work done by the foster parents ..
An interesting discussion followed, I
the foster mothers and fathers!
taking an active part.
Although no definite decisionI
was reached as to the future char-
acter of these meetings, the con. :
census of opinion was that the
meeting should deal mainly with
the problems involved in the care !
of the children and that some too!
cial entertainment be part of each . AS.
