WINDSOR NEWS The third annual banquet of Tau Sigma Beta Sorority was held Tuesday evening, Dec. 24, at the Oriole Terrace, Detroit. It was a strictly formal affair. Prof. Samuel Isaac Krieger, late of the University of Hamburg, Germany, known as the "king of logarithms" and "monarch of mathematics," and lately associ- ated with Prof. Albert Einstein in the mathematical calculations in connection with his theory of rela- tivity, arrived in Windsor Tuesday, Dec. 17, and was a guest at the Prince Edward Hotel for a few days. On his arrival, Professor Krieger was welcomed at the de- pot by Rabbi Israel Lebendiger, It. G. Cohen, Dr. 1. M. Cherniak and J. A. Glass. After escorting him to the hotel, a luncheon was held in his honor, which was attended by many prominent Jewish men of the Border Cities. During his stay the professor gave several lectures and demonstrations of his achieve- ments and remarkable powers. Tickets are now on sale for the annual informal dance to be given by Junior Hadassah at the Prince Edward hotel, on Wednesday, Jan. 15. The fourth meeting of the Young People's Society was held on Wednesday evening, Dec. 18, at the home of bliss Rae Carp, 958 'Parent boulevard.
