It was nearly four o'clock by the

Avoiding the delicatessen store,
Rita ventured for the first time in-

Hearing Judah fumble at the
lock, Rita ran to the door and flung
it open. "Welcome home!" she
greeted him.
"Why, Rita dear, I thought you'd
be lying down. Do you feel all
right?"
"Headache's all gone," she tossed
her head in sheer exuberaace to
show how well she felt. Soon'they
were sitting down to the most de-
' licious meal, according to Judah,
that had ever been cooked.
"Honest, Rita," he declared when
he came to the dessert, "I don't see
how you ever came to marry me.
You're so capable, there isn't any - ,
thing you can't do, while I—"
"Can only burn steak," Rita in-
terrupted. "And I love you for It."!
Judah smoked his cigarette re-
flectively over his coffee. Rita
awaited the moment.
Soon he looked up from his cup,',

great," he repeated,

"Oh, Rita," he put aside the
