LEVITT—GREEN
A lovely wedding was solem- the Jews without delay.
The recent events in Palestine
sized at 6 o'clock Sept. 15, unit-
show the world that racial animosi- ;
ties, in many parts of the globe,
still persist close beneath the sur-
face and that it takes but little to
' arouse them. The hope of the
world for continuance of peace and
amity still is far from realiza-
tion.
We who live in a land of plenty,
and who are protected on all sides
from the dread of sudden on-
slaught from hostile tribes and
peoples, still can learn a lesson
from the Palestine murders and all
similar events in more backward
countries.
That lesson is, I believe, one of
tolerance and kindliness IA one
person toward another, and of one
group toward another, so that hid-
den embers of hostility and hatred
may die away to ashes instead of
being allowed to smoulder until
some happening or another fans
them suddenly into flames.
The American people have been
liberal at all times in the matter I
of relieving distress, and I am sure
that in the present case the sym- I
pathy of the people at large is with
you.
