The Jewish Center Band, under
the direction of Israel Glass, will
give a concert at Belle Isle on
Sunday, Aug. 25. An interesting
program of classical music is now
being arranged by Sir. Glass.
The band consists of boys rang-
ing from six years and up, and
meets every week day for several
hours' practice. Several of the
younger boys as well as many of
the older ones perform creditable
solo work. The band is now in its
fourth year and numbers over 40
children who have studied under
Mr. Glass for a number of years,
gaining a splendid foundation in
the fundamentals of band music.
Special preparation of numbers
never before presented by them is
now being made by the band, and
it is expected that the same qual-
ity of their playing which has made
the band so well liked will again
be displayed at this time.
UPHOLDS JEWS' RIGHT

FRANKFORT.—(J. T. A.)—It
is impossible to ask an Orthodox
Jew to change his religious views
and work on Saturday, was the
decision of the Labor (Mice admin-

Office had refused unemployment
support to an Orthodox Jew who
would not accept work which would
compel him to work on Saturday.
Upon appeal to high authorities
in the Labor Niue, the Frankfort
office was ordered to pay the back
support due and to continue the
