Former members of the Knights

Young Judaea, paid last honors to
their deceased friend and co-
worker, Joseph J. Safran, whose
death occurred tragically.
Mr. Safran, 23 years old, a jun-

night when he was struck on the
head by a piece of wood from a
falling flagpole at Pine Lake, be-
tween Pontiac and Flint. He died
in the Ilurley Hospital in Flint at
1 a. m. Thursday.
Mr. Safran had just been em-
ployed as medical attendant at a
Buy Scout camp at the lake. The
boys were taking down a 65-foot
flagpole, which had been judged
unsafe, when the pole snapped. A
piece of the pole struck Safran.
Mr. Safran, who lived at 3320

and Mrs. Elias Safran. Besides his
parents, he leaves three sisters,'
Mrs. Julius Chudnow, Mrs. Harry
