twentieth anniveisary convention
at the Scarboro Hotel, Benjamin M.
Kagan of Washington, Pa., 17-year
old represen 1 ative of the Columbus
region, won first place. The run-
ner-up was Harry Takiff of Phila-
delphia, representing the Phila-
delphia region.
The first prize is a six weeks'
tour of Palestine, and the st.coral
award consists of cash. The other
, two participants, Miss Elsie Ros-
enberg of Brooklyn and Julius
Teisch of Boston revolved gold and
silver medals. 'The four were the
inners of the semi-finals recently
conducted in Philadelphia and New
York, and they took for their sub-
ject, "Palestine, Israel's Source of
Life." The contest was under the
direction of 51rs. Archibald Sil-
verman of Providence, It. I., vice-
president of the National Young
