A meeting of Chapter No. 63 of
the A. Z. A. was held Sunday,
March 24.
The degree work committee re-
ports that the Judas Maccabeus
degree rehearsals are being held
twice weekly and that the degree
will be presentd in the near future. •
The plans are to have an unofficial
tournament, comprising five chap-
ters, take place at the same time.
Oratory, debating and the degree
performance would take up the
eventful day.
Harold Horwitz, past Aleph Go-
del, is going to Toronto this week-
end to install the first A. Z. A.
chapter in that city. Aleph Hor-
witz in the last year has installed
no less than five chapters in vari-
ous parts of the Michigan and
Chicago territory. Although only
a honorary member now, he is tak-
ing an active part in all A. Z. A
affairs. At the present time he is
in charge of drilling the degree
team in their various roles. Sev-
eral members may accompany him
to the affair.
Due to the short length of time,
the debate between Chapters 63
and 93 has been put over to April
14. The subject will be "Resolved,,
that the jury system be abolished."
At that time an open meeting and
an assisting program will be given.
The public will be cordially invited
to attend and see the work of the
A. Z. A. in Detroit in training its
members for useful careers. No-
tice as to time and place will be
given at a future date.
Monday night the basketball
tenni went to Windsor to playe the
Windsor chapter. After the game
a social program was given in the
gymnasium, which was enjoyed
by all.

An Announcement

To Detroit Life Policyholders, Agents of
the Company and the General Public

By Morris Fishman, Vice-President Detroit Life Insurance Co.

The Detroit Life Insurance Company has entered the group of insurance com-
panies owned and operated by the Insurance Securities Company, Incorporated.
The Insurance Securities Company, Incorporated, owns and operates an active
group of insurance companies consisting of Union Indemnity Company, Northwestern
Casualty and Surety Company, LaSalle Fire Insurance Company, Bankers and Mer-
chants Fire Insurance Company and the Union Title Guaranty Company, Incor-
porated.
The several companies of the Insurance Securities group write all classes of busi-
ness, including Accident and Health, Burglary, Plate Glass, Automobile, Fidelity,
Surety, Fire, Marine, etc.
The entry of the Detroit Life Insurance Company into this group is a great pro-
gressive, forward step. Our capital funds will be substantially increased and the busi-
ness of the Company will be extended into every state in the United States through
the medium of the nation-wide agency organization of the companies with which we
become associated. The increase in our business and the advantages which will result
through this association will the better enable us to meet all competitive conditons.
My present association with the Detroit Life Insurance Company will continue,
affording greater opportunity to work closely with the Detroit Life Agency organiza-
tion for the development of our business. The loyal support, of all Detroit Life agents
has been pledged to the Insurance Securities Group, not only in writing life insurance
but in influencing all classes of business to this group of companies. The loyalty of its
agency organization has been one of the most important factors in the upbuilding of
our Company to date, and I am sure that it will continue in even greater measure.
The Detroit Life Insurance Company is now in the midst of a drive for "The
Greatest Amount of New Business in a Single Month in Detroit Life History," and is
well on its way to accomplish this goal.
I take this occasion to express my sincere thanks to our policyholders, the Detroit
Life Agency organization and the many friends of our Company for their support and
assistance in the development of our Company, and I earnestly bespeak your con-
tinued co-operation.
MORRIS FISHMAN,
Vice-President,
Detroit Life Insurance Company.
