"INVEST IN THE FUTURE OF JEWRY"

A United Jewry is Building Palestine

YOU ARE NEEDED

"I regard the upbuilding of
Palestine as a privilege. To be
able to lay a small stone in the re-
erection of the Temple of our
people is an honor. It brings a
moral force and a moral victory
which simply cannot be replaced
by anybody else or by anything
else. Although, perhaps, I have
received in my life distinctions
more than I merited, there is
none that I feel a greater one
than being privileged to help
build up the Land of Israel."
—LORD MELCHETT.

Th e Commissioners feel very strongly
that a policy which does not allow of fur-
ther development and the acquisition of
new territory, the founding of new colonies,
and the initiation of broader schemes of
great importance to the economic life of the
country, must be considered entirely unsat-
isfactory, and one not acceptable to the
Jewish community as a whole for the carry-
ing out of its duty and obligations.
"In the belief that these conditions will

be fulfilled, the Commissioners appeal to
the entire Jewish world to make
the necessary sacrifices to estab-
lish an ideal which will prove a
just source of pride and satisfac-
tion to all members of the com-
munity, and will be regarded by
the world as a worthy effort on
behalf of Jewry for the re-estab-
lishment of the country of their
origin."

Recognized as the responsibility of all Jews, Palestine directs its call to the Jews of Detroit to do their share in the upbuilding of the Jewish Homeland.
During the coming three weeks, this Jewish community will be asked to subscribe $100,000 towards the United Palestine Appeal for the realization of the great
tasks involved in the historic efforts for the redemption of Israel's hopes.
To help justify the hopes of seventy generations who have prayed for "a return unto Zion with mercy," and to justify the noblest sentiments which are moti-
vating the greatest men in Israel to strive for Palestine's reconstruction, Detroit Jews are expected to oversubscribe this quota.
