Y. W. H. A. NOTES

"Anthology of World Poetry.":
The Literary Guild book for De-
cember is an "Anthology of World
Poetry" by the distinguished poet
and critics, Mark Van Doren.
A surprisingly large space is
given to modern Hebrew poetry,
showing that the literary world ap-
preciates not only the literature
which the Jew gave to the world
in the form of the Bible, but also
the literature which gifted Jewish
men and women are creating in
our own time.
But what to you, a Jew, know
about modern Hebrew poetry?
The class in current Jewish lit-
erature at Bet El College of Jew-
ish Studies is making a special
study of the great poetry now be-
ing written in Hebrew and Yiddish.

Teaching to Give:
Next Sunday the high school
council of Temple Beth El will
begin its campaign for raising the
$150 which it pledged to the Com-
munity Fund. Encourage your
children to contribute generously
It is the finest type of character
education you can give them.

The Report Cards:
have you read carefully the re-
port brought home by your child
from the religious school?
Make it your habit to watch the
progress made by your children
in nit. Temple School.

Help Wanted:

Cleveland needs "Cottage Moth-

a position, please write to Rabbi

Can You Sing?
When our Temple was dedicated,
one of the features of the dedica-
tion was the singing of anthems
by the Temple Choral Society. For,
several years, however, the so.'
ciety has been inactive. The so-
ciety is now ready to resume its
activity, once again to sing an-
thems in the Temple and to give
concerts. William Howland, the
director, is ready to give a great
steal of his time to conducting the
choral work. Former members of
the society and all people of Tem-
ple households who have singing
voices are invited to come to the
opening rehearsal, Wednesday ,
night, Jan. 16, at 8 o'clock, in the
