Chanukah Greetings

We are keenly aware that the success of our organ-
ization is dependent upon the friendship of our cus-
tomers.
It is our privilege, at this happy time, to extend to
you and yours a sincere wish for a full measure of the

tackles are slashing players both

requires a two-man interference
to keep them out of a play. The
guards are of the stonewall va-
riety, nothing less than a tank
could budge them. to center Miel-
ziner plays a roving game, and
can back up a line and block a
kick. As a passer few centers sur-
pass him. The backfield is rich in
power and speed. A wiser quar-
terback than I,evison or or a hard-
er line plunger than Davidowitz
would be hard to find. Loin and
Behr are both passers, catchers
and great on off-takes plays. The
knocking assignment could be di-
vided up, each man being able to
punt passably. The alternate team
is not far removed from the var-
sity except that playing is a unit
it might lack a little of the power
that the varsity could generate. A
coach with the substitutes named
herein on his bench could feel
pretty secure. He would feel no
qualms about sending any one of ,
them in to replace his regulars.
Of course there were more than
33 Jewish football players in the
country, but to set down the names
of the ninny hundreds that played
the game would take more space ,
than I have.
It is becoming monotonous tot
draw a moral each year after pick-'
these teams. I can't conceive
more than their share in college
spurts. If any still cling to the
old blown up theories that the Jew
in college lacks college spirit it is
nothing but stupidity or sheer cus-
sedness. In fact, I think that if
our boys were even a little less ac-
tive they might be doing them-
selves more good. Football with
its tremendous financial gain and
prestige has become a business, a
business in which "to win" is the
ultimate object. The students re-
ceive the least benefit from the
game, and get some queer notions
about the objects of a college edu-
cation. I'd better stop before I
go into a real nice long sermon.
