"The Ghost Train" Continues
At Civic Theater.

The Detroit Civic Theater con-
tinues The Ghost Train," a thrill-
ing mystery play by Arnold Rid-
ley, for another week, with Craig
Ward in the leading role, and Vera
Allen, Gertrude James, and Wal-
ter Young in important parts.
This exciting play kept•London en-
thralled for a solid season. It was
brought to New York by A. II.
Woods, where it continued its tri
umphant appearance, winning,
praise as the most spectacula

mystery play that had been seen
on the American stage for a long
time, 1111,1 second only to "The
Bat." It is being presented here
by special request. The scene is
laid in the waitingroom of a vil-
lage railway station, where a par-
ty of benighted travelers have tak-
en refuge. The story is complicat-
ed by the local superstition of a
ghost-train that rushes through
the night. bringing death to ev-
eryone who sees it. There are real
thrills in this spooky play, and
chills and fun as well. Gales of
laughter mingle freely with the
gripping dritina of the mystery.
"Thy Name Is Woman," the fa-
mous German drama •by Karl
Schoenherr, continues for two
more performances, Wednesday
matinee end evening,
. 19, with
Clara (lessens, Craig Ward, Wal-
ter Sherwin and Arthur Davison.
This is an exciting romance of
smugglers and young, and is tense
with drama. This is only its sec-
ond performance in Detroit in Eng-
lish.

tion at Cass.

As entertaining a comedy as will
he seen in Detroit all season is
Arthur Hopkins' outstanding suc-
cess, "Burlesque," which is the cur-
rent attraction at the Cass Thea-
ter. The two stars, Hal Skelly
and Barbara Stanwyck, confess tee
having played burlesque themselves
which seems aparent from the very
convincing way in which they en-
act the principal roles.
"Burlesque" shows in a most re-
alistic way the pathos and disap-
pointments; the. joys and triumphs
of life behind the scenes.
The last performance will Ise
given at the Cass on Saturday
night, Dec. 29. There will be the
usual matinees Wednesday and
Saturday.
